BEV, CSH, and ICE Explained: A Guide to Choosing Chery Car Technology

Chery Indonesia offers three powertrain technologies. Each has its own advantages, depending on how you drive.

BEV – Battery Electric Vehicle

A 100% electric car: zero emissions and exempt from Jakarta's odd-even traffic rule. Energy cost per kilometer is much lower, and maintenance is simple because there is no engine oil.

Best for: daily city driving, especially if you can charge at home or at the office.

CSH – Chery Super Hybrid

A combination of a petrol engine and an electric motor. For short distances the car can run on electricity alone, while the petrol engine lets the total range exceed 1,000 km.

Best for: drivers who often travel out of town but want electric-car efficiency.
Models: Tiggo 9 CSH, Tiggo 8 CSH, Tiggo Cross CSH, Chery C5 CSH.

ICE – Internal Combustion Engine

Responsive turbo petrol engines, with fuel easy to find anywhere and a more affordable starting price.

Best for: drivers who prioritize price and flexibility.
Models: Tiggo 8 Pro Max, Tiggo 8, Tiggo Cross, Chery C5, Omoda 5 GT.
